I would like to purchase some of your AC power energy meters for tracking kwH usage from 3 different 220V circuit breakers in my circuit breaker panel. These circuit breakers have a black and a red wire going to the load. Can you advise me as to which of your products will work for this application and can you explain exactly how I would connect them to my circuit breakers?

    Hello Joe,

Our AC meters work for single-phase circuit. Is it suitable for your case? And could you please tell us your  measureing range?

    Best regards.

I have 3 separate 220V double pole circuit breakers that I would like to each connect to a kwH meter, so that I can track the energy usage that goes out from each circuit breaker. These double pole circuit breakers have a black and red wire going to the load.
One circuit breaker feeds another circuit breaker panel for all of my baseboard heaters that total a combined maximum load of 72A. The second circuit breaker goes to my dryer which is rated at a maximum load of 25A and the third circuit breaker goes to my hot tub which is rated at a maximum load of 18A.

Thanks for your suggestions. I actually was looking at these items previously. However, I am not sure how I would connect them to my 220V double pole breakers. Do they really work for a 1 phase 3 wire breaker? Again, I have 2 hot wires, black and red, coming out of the double pole breaker going to the load. According to the diagram on the back of your kwH meter, it shows 2 wires that are connecting from 2 of the terminals of the kwh meter to 2 wires between the AC Input and the load. Are these 2 wires the 2 hot wires, black and red, or are they meant for a 2 wire system, such as a black and white (hot/neutral)? Also over which one of the wires does the CT have to go over?

Additionally to my previous question, in order to connect the 2 wires from the khw meter to the breaker, would I have to cut the 2 wires coming out of the breaker, run 2 pig tails out of the meter and then connect them to the corresponding cut wires with wire nuts, which would be connecting 3 wires per line?

    Hello Joe,

Our meters can only work for single-phase circuit, which is with one hot wire and netural wire.

We are sorry it is not suitable for your application.

    Best regards.

Thanks for your reply. Actually there is single phase 2 wires as you described it and there is also single phase 3 wires with 2 hot wires and 1 neutral wire, which is what I have on my circuit breakers. In any case, thanks for letting me know that this meter will not work for this. If you do have some other meters that would work for this application, please let me know.
