I recently purchased this: Digital Car Clock 12V LCD Display Clock Gauge Motor Machine Clock Monitor Waterproof Outdoor/Indoor 12-hour Watch with Blue Backlight DC 9-15V Power Supply https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016F4EAZ0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_XlhxxbETXD916
I installed it on my motorcycle and it works as expected except that sometimes (about 1 out of 5 times) when starting the motorcycle the clock resets to 12:00 like it was unplugged, but without the screen fade, it just instantly goes to 12:00 from whatever time it was set at.
My only guess for the problem is that the voltage drop from the starter motor takes all the power from the clock, but if so i dont know how to fix the problem, perhapse a capacitor?
If i could seperate the clock power from the backlight power i would run the clock with a battery and the backlight from the motorcycle, but i dont think i can do that either.

Just to be certain, would it be possible to send me a diagram of the proposed circuit you spoke of? I just dont quite get how to wire the diodes, i am fairly new to electronics in general so a diagram would be amazingly helpful. This level of customer service is really amazing and i thank you again for the help
