Can I use a 20Kohm variable resistor instead of the 100Kohm that comes with it? Also, what is the function of the extra 25v 100uf capacitor that is laying over the circiut board, is it for extra start up power?

    Thanks!

Also, what do I need to do to make this board work with hall sensors. Can I just solder the wires in and get that function as well?

    Hello Josh,

    Thanks for writing in.

About #200303, we have updated version,  so we are not sure which one you are talking about. Please check whether it is this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D9B6J78

You can use 20K,but this item is brushless sensorless motor controller, there is no way to make it work with hall sensors.

    Best regards.

    Hello Josh,

For the old one, solution is the same. You can use 20K,but it  work with hall sensors.

    Best regards.
