24 V timer relay 1500W

I have an application for many timer units.. for use in 24VAC irrigation sprinkler systems. However, this timer will not work with 24VAC. I also tried to use a simple full cycle rectifier. However, the pulsing DC current was not accepted by your unit. Any suggestions?
