I am working on a project where we need to run a boiler ignition transformer at a nice stable 24v DC. The supply is from a 24v alternator mounted to an engine and the 400Hz rectified to dc, this supply varies from 20v to 30v depending on load. This supply then runs a number of things such as temperature controllers and dc motors as well as this ignition transformer. we want to protect the transformer from spikes of voltage, but the other items do not need protection. Do you or can you supply a regulator to stabilize this supply?
The transformer needs 24v DC (+15%,-10%) at a 3.5 amp continuous current and a peak current of 7 amps. The incoming supply varies from 20v to 30v. We would want a self contained unit ready to mount to a machine so no exposed circuit boards etc.
we need at least 10 of these units to get going but would be looking for maybe 100 a year.
