I have a Hatteras boat that needs the live well pump replaced.  The present live well is 32vDC, resulting in a replacement pump that is $300+.  I would like to install a converter that will allow me to install a pump that is 12VDC, 4.5amp max.  Could you please help steer me in the right direction?

Do you mean you need a buck converter that can convert 32V to 12V? What is the input current?

yes, I need a buck converter that can convert 32VDC to 12VDC , I’ll have to check input when I get on the boat Saturday

The pump I am installing is 4.5 amps max

Actually, there are many buck converters can convert 32V to 12V, like these ones.
