I purchased a 35W constant current electronic load on Amazon. For my project, I need to use the serial interface. Per the instructions, I have it connected to a TTL-level serial interface. I can successfully communicate and turn on or off the load, read rage settings, and start/stop the data stream.

    There are 2 problems:

    1) the data steam is showing the current value that is set (programmed load), not the actual measured current. How do I read the measured value? example:

    Send ‘start’

    Responce:
    sucess
    01.71V,4.00A,0.032Ah,00:00
    01.71V,4.00A,0.033Ah,00:00

The 0.171V is the measured voltage, but the 4.00A is the set value, not measured value

    2) I can read the settings, but if I try to set any value, I get a ‘fail’ response.for example:

    send “2.00A”

    responce:

    fail

    send ‘OVP:25.0’

    responce :

    fail

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hello Tim B,

    Thanks for writing in.

After sending start,  this response is Load supply voltage, load current, capacity value, discharge time.

Just like your case: 01.71V,4.00A,0.032Ah,00:00.  Is the actual load current not 4 A?

And do you make  sure the format for setting parameter  is correct? Could you please kindly take some images to show that?

You can upload pictures here or send it to service email.(Service@droking.com)

    Best regards.

That is correct, the 4.00A returned by the device is not the actual load current, but rather the set value. It will stay at 4.00A even if the load is reduced to zero. The voltage and Ah value are correct. I assume this is just a bug in the firmware, but it defeats the whole purpose of the device.

The project is to log the power of my solar panels to a file. With knowing the amps, I can’t determine the power output.

    Thanks for your help,

    – Tim

    Hello Tim B,

If possible, could you please show us how it is by video? In that way, we can let technicians check carefully.

    Best regards.

    Hello Tim B.

Did you find a solution? I ab about to use the XY-FZ35 serial comms.

    Thank you
