60W boost/buck automatic 10-36 Vin to 12 VDC 5A Out

Connected unit to 12 VDC. Output voltage was not steady. Operating 12 V LCD TV that uses 2.5 A as measured with ampmeter. I am thinking the VR module is oscillating and I may need to add input and output bypass capacitors since the 12 V input lines are long and inductive. What do you recommend for capacitor value?
