I purchased this through Amazon, and I’m using it on my test bench as a variable power supply, supplied by an old Compaq power supply, feeding it 19.3 volts.

I’ve been playing with the unit, mostly powering LEDs. However, my meter has suddenly stopped  showing current. I hooked a multimeter up in the circuit, and it shows current in the circuit, however, the meter on the unit shows 0.00. Adjusting the current potentiometer clockwise and counterclockwise dozens of turns has no apparent affect, although if I go far enough counterclockwise, the unit enters constant current mode.

How can I get my current readings back? Voltage shows fine.

    Hello Norman Blomenkamp,
    Thanks for writing in.
Could you please tell us how large the output current is when unit show 0.00 A  current?
Did you have other operation before? For example, did you enter no-load current calibration when load is still connected?
If possible, could you please take some images or video to show more details for checking? You can upload picture here or send it directly to service@droking.com.
    Best regards.

I’ve had the voltage at various levels, but for the particular test I was doing, I had it at around 12 volts. As far as the no-load calibration, I’ve been able to enter no load calibration, but not get the ammeter to change value at all, so I gave up on the calibration.

I just went to my workshop, and rechecked, and found if I adjusted the circuit, and raised the current to over .04 amps, the ammeter on the converter would start registering. It’s simply showing a current about 30 milliamps lower than what my multimeter reads.

The no-load calibration shows a constant current of .01 amps, and pressing SET and ENT has no effect on the display.

    Hello Norman,
Did you calibrate no-load current before or after current display can’t work?
Could you please tell us if load is disconnected when enter no-load current calibrateion? Would you please kindly show us the display by images?
    Best regards.

I tried calibrating no-load current when I first received the unit, and after the “no display”.

I’m attaching images of the display, with a multimeter in the circuit.

The first shows the converter displaying 0.00 amps. My meter is displaying about milliamps. By this time, the converter meter SHOULD be showing 0.03. In the second image, I’ve boosted the current to 39+ milliamps, and the converter meter just begins showing 0.01 (10 milliamps). So it appears to be off by almost 30 milliamps.

    Hello Norman Blomenkamp,

We are sorry we can’t open pictures. It may be caused by network limitation.

According to your description, actually  it  can  read current, is it right? you boosted the current to 39+

Milliamps current may be too low. It is hard for converter read it accurately. Could you please try to  increasde to over 1A?

And did you calibrating no-load current with load or not?

    Best regards.

As I stated above, I calibrated no load current, with no load, as per the instructions. However, I would appreciate it if you would attempt to give me slightly more in depth instructions on calibration. The documentation is very brief. Pretend I’m a 5 year old, and explain it. 🙂

    Hello Norman ,

To check it quickly, is it convenient for you to show us how it behave by vidoe or images. We are sorry the above images can’t be opened here.  Would you like to try it again or send to Service@droking.com directly?

    Best regards.

I’ve sent the images attached on my prior post to the email address specified.

Furthermore, I’ve gone into no-load calibration mode per the instructions, and the current meter reads 0.01. Pressing “SET” or “ENT” as the instructions specify does nothing.
