Battery charging with DC-DC buck converter

Hello, is it possible to charge a battery using the 750 watt DC-DC buck converter and a solar panel? I am aware that the converter has no charging algorithm.  My only concern is connecting the battery to the “output” terminal.  Will this ruin the converter??

For charging battery, please connect diode to output terminal in case current flow back to converter.
