I am viewing a DROK DC Panel meter with 20mm Hall Effect current sensor as advertised on Amazon. My objective is to measure battery current drain with both engine is running and off. When engine is off, I especially want to detect parasitic current drain.
1- What is the minimum milliamps detection for 100 amp Hall Effect sensor on 12 VDC system?
2- The engine is diesel and draws high starting current. If the current thru the sensor exceeds 100A will any damage occur to sensor or metering circuits? What will be the effect on the measurements?
