DROK® TDA8920 Subwoofer Stereo/Audio Digital Home Amplifier 140W Power AMP Module DIY

Hi Friends,

I have purchased the above AMP from amazon and have boxed it and powered it up etc. So far great input and output are working nice super powerful amp.
My problem with the amp is I can’t get a stereo output from it only mono.
I input a stereo single however it is always output mono i.e. through both channels.
Could you please advise where the connections should be wired to enable stereo or is their something to do to enable stereo. Or is this not possible with this amp ?
I have connected the right speaker to the -/+ to the left of the power input connector and the left speaker to the -/+ to the right of the power input however both speakers receive a signal when either a left or right channel input is received.
The reason for using this amp is that I require an amplifier that outputs a stereo signal but also has a low pass filter while still allowing a stereo signal.

Hello Graham,
Thank you for purchasing.
As your description, this is not possible for this amp. This amp is for subwoofer mono speaker.
However, here is a another amp board with dual output for you: AMP Board with Dual Output
You can connect this amp board to the subwoofer amp board you purchased for 2.1 channel stereo system like the attached shown.

Hi,

Thanks greatly for your advice and your super quick response.
If I do connect this additional amplifier to the TDA8920 then how would I wire up the output connectors on the TDA 8920 to the stereo pair and subwoofer ? As there are only four output connectors two either side of the power inputs.

The TDA8920 board is connected to the subwoofer and the amp board with dual output is connected to the stereo pair speakers.

Hi.
Can you clarify the power in arrangements for this sub amp please? How do I connect a positive and negative dc supply? I have custom built a car subwoofer with a single 8 inch driver and cannot get the amp powered up. As you would expect I have a 12 volt car battery supply which I can transform up to 24 volts but how do I accommodate the need for both a positive AND negative voltage to the board?

This amplifier board is for home audio system which needs AC to DC dual power supply.
The power supply of the car is single power supply.
Therefore, this board is not suitable for your application.

I purchased a DROK TDA8920 amp and a DROK AC to DC 24V Power Converter Module 4A 100W Switching Power Supply Board to power the amp. I am confused on how I am supposed to ground the amp because the power supply only have two AC Inputs and two DC outputs +/-. I hooked up the negative and positive to the corresponding terminals on the amp from the power supply. I wired the ground terminal to the AC ground from the wall. The power supply light is green so I believe that it is working. I hooked up the btl(+) to the positive side on my 4 ohm subwoofer and the btl(-) to the negative side on the sub. I have an rca low level hooked into the input on the amp . There is no sound. Is there a light on the amp to see if it is powered? or am I doing something wrong? is it the ground set up?

Thank you for writing in.
GND terminal on the board is the reference point in audio circuit, but not the ground wire of AC ground from the wall.
Therefore, the GND terminal cannot be connected to the AC ground from the wall.
This amp board needs DC dual power supply board, this power converter board may be not suitable for your application.

I purchased another DROK AC to DC 24V Power Converter Module 4A 100W Switching Power Supply Board. If understand correctly I will need to wire the power supplies together to creat a common ground between the negative and positive. A wiring pattern likes this should work correct? +24-O+24-. the zero is there to represent the neutral point between the positive and negative. So by doing this I will have created a 48 volt difference. -24 v and +24 v Is this correct? This wiring pattern will work for the amp board? I did not understand what dual power meant before I purchased the board. I am used to car audio not home theater.

I just finished the install. WOW it sounds GREAT!!! I had to turn the gains down to a minimum. So MUCH POWER. It sounds very clean as well. Drok does a great job of building boards. I am incredibly happy with this amp. THANKS DROK!!!
