Purchased 3 of these regulators to power a Canon 7D and it’s wifi adaptor. Both the camera and wifi running off one unit. I have two cameras and wifi to setup. And bought a spare regulator. I set the output voltage with the pot. On the rear to 8 volts output. (I take it that there is no input voltage adjustment). Once in while the camera will work and then it just stops and the battery icon flashes empty. It does not matter if the wifi is not powered, it still stops working. The regulator is running off a 12 volt battery on a solar panel. I am making two Time Lapse Camera Systems. What could be the problem? Is there something different I should be using?

First, we would like to let you know that when input voltage is 12V and output can be regulated to 8V, which means this converter is a good one and output voltage can be adjusted normally.
Could you please let us know what the real power of your equipment is? Please make sure the power of your solar panel and converter are enough to power your camera. If the power of your solar panel is not enough and the power your converter is enough, you can get the power you need because of the equivalence of power conversion.
You said the wifi is not powered, did the wifi need 8V? if not, you should use a right voltage to power it.
