Can the width of the shutter be changed? What is the best distance away from the target should the E3F-DS30C4 be placed.

My goal is to use the counter to count hammer strikes made by playing a single key on a vertical piano

The width of the shutter can’t be changed. And the ideal distance for detecting should be within 30cm. Hope this can help you.
