    Hi
    I need help
    I have a digital voltmeter ammeter model H27VI5 100v-10A
On PCB include shunt for 10A current
My trolling motor full speed need current 20A. Of Course H27VI5 cannot read this current.
    I have two choices
    1. cut the shunt on PCB and connect a external shunt 50A
    2. connect a external shunt without cutting the 10A shunt on PCB
Please inform me what is the better (of course i think, need calibration current trimmer on PCB)
Please inform me the best choice with a diagram.

    Best regards

    Hi
I would like to monitor the current out of an alternator, but looking at these diagrams it seems I must have it on the earth side… but obviously I can’t put a shunt between the alternator and the engine!
    Can this be done?
    thanks
    (I have a 100amp unit)

    Regarding DSN-VC288
Thats the one with the fat red and black in one socket and the red-black-yellow in the other socket.
Now the thin black and red, is power supply and the yellow is the sensor for voltage .
SO the yellow goes with the red one to Plus and the black to negative .
Now the voltage should be shown.
The two fat ones left, should so be the Amps. one on each side of the shunt , the red one where the voltage is highest, and that will be on the supply side, and the black one on the low side, on the load side.
And now it is working…..It is working for me anyway
    that way. Good Luck “Strudel”

    Ok…

Finally got this gauge to work for me…

    For one battery input..

    Thin black is negative battery.

Join thin red to thin yellow and to one pole of motor.

Thick red to other pole of motor.

For extra battery to power motor…

Thin red to positive of display battery

    Thin black to both batteries.

Thick red to one pole of motor

Thin yellow to other pole of motor and power battery positive.

I have SKU:200193, meter and shunt.  I want to connect to my campervan to show details of voltage and current for the vans leisure battery.  Do you have a circuit for this?  It looks like the shunt has to be in the negative cable of the battery between battery and vehicle ground?  Can you help please.

I purchased a   DC 6.5~100V 20-50-100A LCD Digital Combo Panel Display Volt Amp Power Watt Meter.  It has the 100A shunt.  It has not yet arrived so I am preparing the wiring.  I wish to put the meter 15 feet (5 meters) from the shunt.

I understand that the thin wires only power the display, and so a very thin wire will be sufficient to extend them.  (24 AWG?)

The thicker wires carry a small part of the power passing thru the circuit (the rest travels through the shunt).  What gauge wire will I need to use to extend the thicker wires from the meter to the shunt.

    Thanks

    Hi Roger Ellis,
The meter you show us is similar to one of our meters, but as it is not sold by us, we are not sure if our suggestion is suitable for your application. Hope you can understand.
Based on our meter, all of wires length had better below 0.5m. And we don’t limit the thickness of wire, most of household wires are available.
    Best regards.
