I recently purchased a DROK® Digital Multimeter DC 6.5-100V 20A Voltage Amperage Power Energy Meter DC Volt Amp Tester Gauge Monitor LCD Digital Display with Blue Backlight Measuring Volts Current with Built-in Shunt and need help in installing this device in my travel trailer. I want to monitor voltage and power usage of the trailer batteries.

I connected the two outside terminals of the unit to the battery cable coming into the trailer fuse box and get battery voltage only. I connected the two inside terminals to the same battery cables and still get only battery voltage, no amp reading, nothing. After reading customer reviews, it appears that the two inside terminals must have a different power supply from the batteries I am trying to monitor. Is this correct?
Hello William T. Ward,
This meter is used to monitor the voltage, ampere, power and the energy consumption of the load.
It cannot be used to monitor the remaining voltage and power usage on your trailer battery but you can use themeasured values of the load to calculate the power usage of the battery.
And this meter is powered from the circuit directly, do not need to connect another power supply.
If you want to monitor the battery capacity, here is an recommendation for you:DROK®DC8-63V 12V/24V/36V/48V LCD Lead-acid Battery Capacity Tester Gauge Panel Battery Statue Indicator Monitor Electric Quantity Detector Reader with Green Back-light for Auto Car Vehicle Battery MonitoringHope this can help you.
