On amazon it is listed as…

DROK Numerical Control Voltage Regulator DC 8-60V to 10-120V 15A Boost Converter, Constant Voltage Current Step Up Module Adjustable Output 48V 24V 12V DC Power Supply with LED Display

I am trying to use it to charge batteries for my camera drone (a DJI Mavic Air).  My plan is to take battery with me to a part when I am planning to use the drone all day.  I can charge my drone with the car battery so I don’t drain my real car battery.

I needed a boost converter because car battery voltage ranges between 0 and 12.6 volts and the drone battery charger needs between 12 and 16 volts.  Once the car battery is a little drained the voltage drops to a level below that required by the drone battery car charger.

I hooked it all up and it works a little.  The boost converter is not providing as much current as I was expecting.    I tried with a car power mattress pump and the drone charger.  Both show that there are intermittent drops in power.  Why is this happening?  The drone charger says it draws six amps but here it only pulls 2.5.  The light on the boost converter switches from constant voltage to constant voltage when the power drop out.  Why is this?  This boost converter is supposed to be able to handle 15 amps.  The blower is 4 amps.  I did have the boost converter set to provide up to 15 amps.

    Hello Jacob,

    Thanks for writing in.

Did you check if input power is enough for output? No matter buck or boost converter, they can only change voltage, but the total  energy cannot be created or destroyed. Assume input power is 10w, output power is also 10W.

And regarding to current adjustment,  it is used to limite output current insead of regulate current.  Output current can’t be adjusted directly, which is decided by load mainly.
For example,  preset output is 3A, but load need to draw 2A, the actual output should be 2A.

When load need to draws over 4A , actual output will not be over 3A in that case
You can firstly confirm how muc the input power is and output power you need.

    Best regards,
