PWM for air pump feedback

Hi, I am looking to control the speed of a 12VDC air pump using a flow meter with 0–5VDC output. I’m looking at this and wondering if I can wire an external 0–5VDC input signal through the potentiometer, rather than using what I’m guessing is an internal 5VDC supply from the board.

You can input 0-5V analog voltage to control it.
