DROKclarkNovember 18, 2015 at 8:40 pmPost count: 0yes I did purchase the dc 500A you listed. it is the wiring diagram as shown on Amazon. Does the 12v meter have to be a separate 12v supply? I installed it on the positive side of battery bank (300 Ah capacity) which supplies a 2000W DC to AC power inverter. I installed it on the negative side last evening and the meter showed 666 on the display until it faded out within about 1 minute. Thx
Hi clark, if you use a common power supply to power the meter and measured device, the meter was burnt. Usually the shunt need to series connected between negative of the power supply and the load to avoid being burnt when using a common power supply. So we recommend you to a separate, independent, isolated power supply.

With the shunt initially being hooked up between the positive and the load, is the shunt still usable or will I have to buy another shunt? With using a separate power supply to power the meter can I connect the shunt between the positive and the load? Thx
