OK, problem solved – it was a poor connection to the load side of the measurement shunt.

mike–could you pls net out how you installed the shunt?

I was expecting it to be connected to the negative pole of the battery, thru the shunt, then onwards to the chassis ground.

does this in fact connect to the positive pole of the battery, thru the shunt, then onwards to the load?

    thanks!

Hello, I have the same issue with the 100A. My system includes a battery, a solar charger, and the load (a converter), how to wire all these together, and HOW to read the bi-directional ? How to know amps in and amps out ? how to know if i am using more than my panel can give : that is my question. Thanks.

    Hello Hicham,
    Thanks for writing in.
All of connection should be based on the following diagram>
    200193
About bi-directional, this meter can read bi-directional current, but every time it can only read one direction. In charging mode, current reading has”-” sign.
As for your last questins, we are sorry we can’t ensure what you means, could you please tell us more details?
    Best regards
