Just ran a few tests on this device. It does its job just fine clear across its specified voltage range. I didn't test its upper limits yet as to current, but up to about 6A I found that it regulated current tightly regardless of input fluctuations. Voltage regulation was also virtually independent of input provided it was at least .8V above the output setting. |
Great inexpensive voltage reducer with digital readout

It displayed the voltage and current outputs with decent accuracy. Voltage display is within .1V of my calibrated meter at 15V. Not perfect, but good enough for any reasonable application. Current display was similarly just a little off but completely acceptable. |
A little tricky to use at first but 15min later it's dishing out voltage just like I need.

It's a nice looking unit that I expect will do a lot of service on my workbench. I may very well pick up a couple more. |

MaxxAir fan in my rv has a circuit board with a small operating range. Both my truck's alternator and the rv's lithium batteries can put out up to 14.4 volts at their maximum, while the Maxxair fan circuit board can only handle a maximum of 13.8 volts. Blew the first circuit board not knowing this. Bought this unit to fix the issue. It comes in a box and requires some assembly. Once you look at it, how it goes together, it should be intuitive for a person who is tackling their own voltage reduction project. The digital readout is great! I only gave it four stars in some ratings because the wire terminals are very small, not good for much more than 16 gauge maximum. That said, I haven't looked but I'm not sure this unit can handle the higher amperages requiring heavier wire. Recommend this product. |
